Options Guide

Before you order

Every option, in plain English.

A product page full of unfamiliar words is a good way to talk yourself out of carrying. This page walks through every choice on the order form, what it changes on your body, and what happens if you pick wrong. Short answer to that last one: not much. Every default here is the setup most people end up on.

Firearm make & model

Required

The shell is molded around your exact pistol, so this is the one field there is no default for. Include the generation or variant if there is one — a Glock 19 Gen 5 and a Gen 3 are not the same mold, and neither are an M&P 2.0 and a 2.0 Metal.

If you run a weapon light or a red dot, say so here too. A light changes the mold entirely; an optic changes whether we cut the top of the shell to clear it.

Dominant hand

Required

This is the hand you draw with, not the side you write with — for almost everyone they're the same. A right-handed holster rides on your right side and opens for your right hand.

The easy test: stand up, put your hand where the gun would live on your waistband, and see which one gets there naturally. That's your answer.

  • Right hand Most common

Rides on your right hip or right of your navel. The most common build by a wide margin.

  • Left hand

A true mirrored shell, not a flipped clip. Same price, same lead time.

Concealment wing

Included

This is the single option that makes the biggest visible difference, and it's the one people skip because they don't know what it is.

A concealment wing — you'll also hear it called a claw or a mod wing — is a small polymer arm that bolts to the front of the holster and presses against the inside of your belt. That pressure levers the top of the pistol back toward your body, which tucks the grip in. The grip is the part that prints through a shirt. Everything below it is already flat against you.

It costs nothing, adds almost no bulk, and it is why the same gun disappears under a t-shirt on one person and shows on another.

  • Include the wing

    Include the wing Standard

Grip gets pulled into your side. Recommended for appendix carry and for anyone carrying under a soft shirt.

  • No wing

    No wing

A flatter holster against the body with nothing pushing off the belt. Some people prefer it behind the hip, or if they run a very rigid belt.

Belt attachment

Required

How the holster stays on you. All of our options are adjustable for ride height and cant, meaning you can set how deep the gun sits and how far it tilts — loosen the screws, slide, retighten.

Inside-the-waistband holsters use clips that hook over the belt. Outside-the-waistband holsters use either belt loops that thread onto the belt, or a paddle that slips down inside the waistband without unthreading anything.

  • Adjustable clips

    Adjustable clips Standard

Our standard IWB attachment. Hooks over the belt, adjustable ride height, quick to put on.

  • UltiClips

    UltiClips +$24

A locking metal clip that grips the belt — or works with no belt at all, on gym shorts or joggers. Worth it if you carry in soft pants.

  • Belt loops (OWB)

    Belt loops (OWB) OWB

Two loops thread onto your belt. The most stable outside-the-waistband mount, and the flattest against the body.

  • Paddle (OWB)

    Paddle (OWB) OWB

Slips down inside the waistband and locks under the belt. On and off in a second without unthreading your belt.

Muzzle end

Closed by default

Whether the bottom of the holster is sealed or open. This is only about clearance, not retention — the gun is held by the trigger guard either way.

Closed is cleaner and keeps pocket lint out of the barrel. Open is there because some barrels are longer than the standard one: a threaded barrel, a compensator, or a suppressor-height setup will bottom out in a closed shell.

  • Closed muzzle

    Closed muzzle Standard

Sealed bottom. Correct for a stock pistol — which is most of them.

  • Open muzzle

    Open muzzle

Open bottom so a threaded barrel, comp or longer slide has somewhere to go.

Color, pattern or cloth

Cosmetic

Purely cosmetic — every color is the same 0.080" sheet and performs identically. Black, FDE and OD Green are on the shelf and ship on the normal lead time. Everything else is ordered in for your build and adds about five days.

New — Cordura cloth wrapped. We also build in fabric-wrapped Kydex: real 500D Cordura bonded to the sheet, in 20 camo and solid patterns. You pick it from this same specialty list. It adds $20 per holster, or $40 on the Outrigger and DB Endo Sidecar, which each take two sheets to cover.

See all 27 colors, the pattern library and the cloth-wrapped range before you decide.
