2011 & Double-Stack 1911 Holsters
2011 and double-stack 1911 pistols are the hardest guns in the world to buy a holster for. The pattern isn't one gun — it's a dozen manufacturers building on a shared idea, and no two of them share a dust cover length, a rail profile, or a grip width. A shell cut for a Staccato P will not correctly fit a Kimber DS9. That is why the big holster catalogs list two or three 2011 options and stop.
Port City Holsters builds each rig to the specific gun in front of us. Every holster on this page is cut and formed to order in Wilmington, North Carolina, in .080" Kydex.

If your gun isn't on this list, that is the normal case rather than a problem — most of what leaves this shop is a configuration we have never formed before. Tell us the make, model, barrel length, light and optic when you order and we will confirm the build with you before any Kydex is heated.
Which rig suits a 2011
Double-stack 1911s are wide at the grip and usually long in the slide, which changes what carries comfortably.
Appendix and inside-the-waistband
- DB Endo Sidecar — pistol and spare magazine carried together on one platform. The most popular choice for a full-size 2011 because the magazine carrier counterbalances the slide and keeps the grip tucked in.
- Port City Inboard IWB — a single-shell appendix rig when you want the lowest possible bulk and carry a spare magazine elsewhere.
Outside-the-waistband
- Port City Outrigger OWB — belt-loop OWB, the usual pick for range days, competition and open carry with a long-slide 2011.
- Port City Jetty OWB — a slimmer OWB profile that rides closer to the body.
Lights, optics and compensators
Weapon-mounted lights change the shell more than the gun does. A holster formed around a bare dust cover will not accept a light later, and a holster formed around a TLR-7 will not hold a gun without one. Tell us the exact light and we form around the gun-and-light as a single unit.
We have formed shells around Streamlight TLR-1 HL, TLR-1 HLX, TLR-7X, TLR-7 HL-X Sub, SureFire X300U-B and XC3, and Olight PL Mini 2, PL X and PLX.
Red dot optics need clearance cut into the sight channel rather than a different shell. Trijicon SRO, Holosun and similar footprints are routine — name the optic and we cut for it.
Compensators are where we do our most unusual work. A comp adds length ahead of the muzzle and often changes the profile enough that no production holster fits at all. We have built for Radian Ramjet and Apex Tactical MRAT equipped guns. See holsters for compensated pistols.

Every rig is formed in .080" Kydex. You choose from 27 solid colors and a large library of licensed patterns — carbon fiber, topographic, woodland and multicam families among them. Browse the full color and pattern library before you order.

Common questions
Do you need my gun sent to you?
No. We work from moulds and props, and we confirm the exact configuration with you in writing before building. We never ask a customer to ship a firearm.
My 2011 has an aftermarket magazine release and a thumb rest. Does that matter?
Tell us. Anything that changes the outside profile where the shell touches the gun is worth mentioning, and it is easier to account for before forming than after.
Can one holster fit both my Staccato and my Glock?
No, and we won't sell you one that claims to. A shell that loosely accepts two different guns holds neither of them well.
What does a 2011 rig cost?
